The building complex is the new headquarters for Basketball Victoria. Comprising six basketball courts, three of which can be converted into approximately a 3500 seat capacity show court, four change areas, two referee rooms, social/meeting room with viewing area to show court/basketball courts, café, public toilets, entry foyer with reception, retail and office areas. With an internal floor area of 8,575m² the main show court has a clear internal height of 12 metres and internal area of 72m x 38m. The building was constructed using steel cladding and decorative precast concrete with the facade featuring 192 perforated and folded aluminium panels with different designs that are back lit at night to create a beacon for fans of the sports played. The six-court indoor State Basketball Centre will serve local, regional and elite level players, whilst also accommodating netball.
