TOUN-NUN CHILDCARE CENTRE

46 Fairweather Parade, Officer

The project is a VSBA and Cardinia Shire Council partnership and is jointly funded through Developer contributions and the Victorian State Government (DET-Building Blocks grant and DJPR-Growing Suburbs Fund).

The Centre provides kindergarten, occasional care, maternal child health and family support services. The facility includes:
· Two Kindergarten rooms for 66 3-5 year old children
· Multipurpose community room
· Maternal Child Health & Allied Health consulting rooms
· Shared common area/waiting lounge
· Staff facilities—kitchen, planning room & amenities
· 18 vehicle parking spaces
· Outdoor play space

The entry foyer leads to a central arcade that provides access to the four large program rooms (33 children in each room). The program rooms are aligned in pairs for flexibility and include storage, wet activity areas and amenities.

The central arcade space also serves as a community gathering area with seating and community information screens.

The project has a charged stormwater system supplying water for toilet flushing and irrigation. The sub-structure comprises deep in ground footings and bored piers to achieve the required floor level.

The building exterior has four façade types including metal cladding, compressed fibre cement sheet, pre-finished aluminium panels, and folded perforated aluminium perforated panels. The roof is profiled sheet metal. The framed glazed façade, windows and doors are powder coated aluminium.
