Construction of the first stage of a new senior secondary school (years 11-12) comprising two new buildings on a greenfields site was delivered in two separable portions.
The STEM and Arts Centre building (3,000m2) combines a range of specialist science, technology, engineering, materials and art studios. The Learning Community Building (1,500m2) comprises 10 General Purpose Classroom areas, two collaboration spaces and associated amenities.
External works include over 13,000m2 of landscaping and 7,700m2 of grassed area, 2,600m2 natural finished concrete. Other works include 45 at grade car parks, new electrical sub-station, passive and active outdoor recreational areas.
Construction of the second stage comprises five new buildings, extensive external works including:
- Sports Gymnasium with a multi-purpose court, gymnasium and support facilities.
- Performing Arts Centre with a music teaching room and drama theatre.
- Administration/Resource building with library, seminar rooms, staff administration/lounge and specialist support spaces for special needs students.
The second stage has 47,000m2 of landscaping with 34,000m2 of grassed area, 8,000m2 of natural finished concrete and a sports oval. External works included an amphitheatre, four hard courts, turf mounds, addition car parking and a rain garden that will aid in stormwater detention.

Success Factors
The project contract conditions included mandatory completion dates to enable the school to open for the 2018 academic year. Efficient programming and execution of works resulted in the total project being completed two months ahead of program.
